Hyderabad: A Telangana State level workshop is being organised on Thursday by BJP to create awareness among people about the recently amended the Waqf Act. The workshop will be inaugurated by Union Minister and BJP Telangana State president Kishan Reddy. BJP State Vice President G Manohar Reddy said the party’s National Co-Organisation Secretary Siva Prakash, Arvind Menon and State Organisational General Secretary Chandrashekhar Tiwari would participate in this workshop. He said for holding the workshop, committees with four members had been appointed from each district and added that the members of these committees would help in creating awareness among the people about the Waqf Amendment Act and provide necessary details.
He said the Waqf Amendment Act was brought to provide important solutions to the encroachment of the Waqf lands that are currently in force. He claimed that this Act would organise the rights of Muslims in a way that will be useful for their progress. “I request the Muslims not to get caught up in the misconceptions being created by some politicians regarding the Waqf Amendment Act. We request people to be vigilant. In the case of alienated lands, the Waqf Amendment Act was brought mainly to resolve the problems.
He said the welfare schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana offered by the Narendra Modi government were benefiting up to 40 per cent of the poor Muslims. Taking this mantra, the Narendra Modi government is continuously working for the development of all sections of the people, he said.
